ANSYS Inc. announced the availability of its leading provider ofelectromagnetic simulation software, ANSYS Electromagnetics 16.2, contains bothgeneral purpose and application specific products to address a broad array ofindustry applications. These solutions allow you to accurately simulateelectromagnetic fields when predicting the behaviour of electrical andelectromechanical devices.

ANSYS enhanced the depth and breadth of its electromagnetic field solutionswhen it incorporated the industry-leading electromagnetic field solvers fromAnsoft into the portfolio. These products cover the full spectrum of electromagneticanalysis and design. - DE99746 Users can run Paste script command with empty clipboard.
- DE99765 Users can paste designs to create dynamic links after pasting CircuitDesigns.

- DE99292 Fixed update issue with non-geometry parameters of component whenthat parameter is assigned to design or project variable.

- DE101119 Fixed scaling issue with Modeler/Export when modeler unit is not mm.
- DE101438 Animation file is now correctly exported from remote desktop.

ECAD Translators

- DE98481 Unsupported pad definitions with unit overrides no longer prevent theimport of ODB++ designs.
- DE101170 Preliminary ODB++ v.8 support provided for extended unitdefinitions. Note: v.7x export is still preferred.
- DE101781 Intermittent crash no longer occurs when flattening designs duringGDSII import.

HFSS

- DE97621 The solver now correctly issues singular matrix error instead ofout-of-memory error.
- DE98245 The current plot for a user-defined current source is now correctlydisplayed for the implicit transient solver.
- DE100632 Clean stop no longer crashes for the implicit solver as it could dofor some rare cases in 16.1.
- DE100879 The DDM solver failure has been fixed.
- DE101012 Setting proper permissions for MPI processes on a cluster.
- DE101428 The implicit transient solver now produces the correct answers uponrestarting after a clean stop.
- DE101504 The incorrect out-of-memory criteria has been modified for hybridsolver thus avoiding issuing the out-of-memory when enough

memory exists.
- DE101536 MLFMM solutions for small flat objects are now accurate.
- DE102681 The occasional slowdown of the solver has been fixed and it is nowexpected to provide minor to significant speedup vs HFSS

2014.
- DE102786 Change in the export format of fields.
- DE102955 Error in push excitations for modal.
- DE103285 Restarting the implicit solver after a clean stop for a design withfrequency dependent material now continues at the clean

stop time as opposed to time zero.
- DE103617 The auto HPC mode for the hybrid solver has improved the algorithmwhen to distribute vs solving sequentially such that it

better takes into account the available memory.
- DE103797 Parametric batch solve no longer fails on Windows HPC with automaticjob distribution settings.
- DE103903 Finite array solver no longer hangs for very large arrays.
- DE104424 The implicit solver now successfully completes the simulation forthe case of a mix of passive ports and active non-port

sources.

HFSS 3D Layout

- DE101352 No longer crashes when negative offset collapses polygon in expandfunction.
- DE101989 Fixed return type and value for Edb API GetReferenceTerminal andGetGeometries.
- DE102075 Under certain circumstances, the pad-suppression test returnedincorrect results; this has now been fixed.
- DE102327 Backdrill start/end layer is updated during parametric sweep.
- DE102764 HFSS 3D Layout custom setup now works with fast setting.
- DE104943 Sources are assigned to correct terminal in HFSS 3D Layout fieldspost-processing.
- DE105503 PEC and RLC boundaries are created correctly when importing fromEDB.
- DE106854 GDI leaks resulting from Save and context switches between designshave been fixed.
- DE108631 Circuit elements are now included during adaptive refinement whenusing the distributed direct matrix solver.

Maxwell

- US107290 For Maxwell 3D, the induced voltage at t=0 is no longer zero,instead by linear interpolation.
- US107292 For Maxwell 2D, the induced voltage at t=0 is no longer zero,instead by linear interpolation.
- DE98450 The m3dfs_qs_solve license feature now borrows the correct feature.
- DE101914 Fixed the convergency issue of nonlinear impedance boundary.
- DE102149 The unassigned conductors are no longer treated as short circuit.
- DE104298 Analysis window settings for harmonic forces can be parametrized.

resolves the convergence issues.
- DE101200 Q3D Extractor now supports curved surface with thin conductorboundary.
- DE102149 For 2D Extractor, the unassigned conductors are no longer treated asshort circuit.

- US108660 FMI 2.0 is fully supported in the GUI and solver.
- DE98483 Voltage dependency of C0_SB, VDIFF_SB are now addressed.

- DE99666 Addressed an issue determining reference points for n-portS-parameter blocks connected to pins sitting on top of/below cutouts

in metal planes.
- DE100804 Addressed a simulation failure for SIwave projects that referenceSPICE netlists containing mutual inductance (K) elements.
- DE103348 Fixed an issue during simulation concerning K-element (mutualinductor) handling in SPICE netlists attached to SIwave designs.

- DE102330 Changes required to synchronize standalone Sentinel-PSI with PSIsolver option in SIwave.
- DE104327 Fixed an issue with trapezoidal conductor cross sections.
- DE105662 Changes required to make the SIwave R16.2 scripting interface unique(that is, to not conflict with R16.0/R16.1).
- DE106713 Fixed a problem in which Sentinel-PSI simulation results wereshowing an open circuit at DC for a well-connected signal net.
