Invensys Operations Management, a global provider of technology systems,software solutions and consulting services to the manufacturing andinfrastructure operations industries, has issued the release of SimSci-Esscordynamic simulation software.
Version 5.0 of the company’s DYNSIM software contains many additional featuresthat expand its capabilities, improve its performance, lower total cost ofownership, extend usage and greatly reduce the time required to engineer andbuild process models.
DYNSIM software is a rigorous, first-principle dynamic simulator that predictsthe time-dependent behavior of industrial processes. A well designed DYNSIMmodel accurately depicts the same hydraulic, heat transfer and other equipmentconstraints as the actual plant and provides a single scalable application thatcan help companies reduce capital costs, improve plant design, trimcommissioning time, increase asset availability and train and certify controlroom and field operators in a safe environment.
Dynamic simulation studies that are commonly performed with DYNSIM softwareinclude distillation column relief load reduction, compressor startup and surgeanalysis, de-pressuring analysis, refinery steam control and flare systemanalysis. To accelerate the learning curve, version 5.0 also adds functionalityfrom its DYNSIM Power software offering, such as an enhanced compressor andexpander models, as well as pipeline models from its PIPEPHASE software,including two-phase flow modeling, acceleration pressure drop modeling and aglobal pipeline database.
