AWS D1.1-2015, 第2部分，2.3.1节：
2.3.1 Plan and Drawing Information. Complete information regarding base metal specification designation
(see 3.3 and 4.8.3) location, type, size, and extent of all welds shall be clearly shown on the contract plans and
specifications, hereinafter referred to as the contract documents.

关于 specification designation 如何理解？
是不是specification和 designation location 分别理解？

说错了，应该是base metal specification, desination location。 Designation location of weld, 焊缝位置。designation 意思是identifying something

不太同意这你的说法，specification designation是一个整体，中文指的就是技术或规范层次上的规格名称，这个词在ASME 第八卷第一分篇关于材料部分描述出现的频率很高比如UG-93 INSPECTION OF MATERIALS 摘取两段参考如下:
(-a) the material shall be accepted by the Manufacturer
as complying with the material specification if the
material specification provides for the marking of each
piece with the specification designation, including the
grade, type, and class, if applicable, and each piece is so
marked
(-a) Each bundle, lift, or shipping container is
marked with the specification designation, including the
grade, type, and class if applicable by the material manufacturer
or supplier.
